What is Financial Resilience?

Financial resilience is your ability to maintain your lifestyle if your income stops or your circumstances change.

This tool looks at:

  • Your income and spending

  • Your savings buffer

  • Your protection policies (life cover, income protection and critical illness cover)

It then calculates how long you could cope financially and identifies any gaps.

Unlike simple calculators, this provides a structured view of your financial stability based on real-world scenarios - not worst-case assumptions.

How do I know if I have enough financial protection?

You have enough financial protection if:

  • Your income protection could cover your essential monthly expenses

  • Your savings could support you through any waiting periods or income gaps

  • Your mortgage is fully protected with life or critical illness cover (where applicable)

If any of these areas are incomplete, you may be financially exposed.

Our financial resilience tool brings all of these together into one clear score, helping you understand your position quickly and accurately.

Why Does Financial Resilience Matter?

Many people assume they are financially protected - but gaps often only become clear when everything is viewed together.

This tool helps you:

  • Identify shortfalls in your protection

  • Understand how long your savings would last

  • See how much of your lifestyle is actually covered

  • Take action before problems arise

If you'd like help improving your position, we can guide you through your options with no obligation.

What happens after I get my score?

Once you've completed the assessment, you'll receive your personalised resilience score straight away, along with a downloadable report you can keep for your own records. We'll also automatically get sight of your results, so you don't need to send anything over separately. You'll also see a "Book a Consultation" button alongside your score, so if you'd like to discuss your results further, it's just one click away.

Can you help me explore different scenarios?

Yes. Once you've completed your assessment, we can model "what if" scenarios with you - for example, showing how your score would change if you increased your cover, built up more savings, or adjusted your income protection. This is a great way to see the real impact of different decisions before committing to anything.

Does it matter if my figures aren't exact?

Yes, it does. Your score is calculated directly from the information you provide, so the more accurate your figures for income, spending, savings and existing cover, the more accurate and useful your results will be. If you're estimating, try to get as close as possible - you can always come back and update your answers later.

Can I save my progress and come back to it?

Yes, your progress is saved as you go, so if you need to leave the assessment to look something up, you can. Just keep the browser tab open while you do - closing the tab will lose your progress, so it's worth having any documents or figures you need close at hand before you start.

Is my score guaranteed to be accurate?

Your score is a guide based on the information you provide, not a guarantee or a substitute for full financial advice. It's designed to give you a clear, honest starting point for understanding your financial resilience, and from there, we can help you explore your options in more detail.
